I'm a designer and constantly looking for new books to add to my collection and during my search I came across this book. I was a little unsure if this book would be worth reading but the price was low enough that it was worth taking a shot.First of all, this ISN'T a "how to" book. If that is what you are looking for then this book isn't it.
This is simply a book with designer/geek humorous tips or advice, if you can call it that. It's a very easy read, read it in a matter of minutes. But during that time, I found that from page to page, the words were provoking thought and I ended up putting sticky notes on favorite pages. Needless to say that I genuinely enjoyed reading this book and it will definitely be something that I will read from time to time and it definitely has a place of my book shelf. I suggest every designer read this book!

...however, this is one of very few books that I have read all the way through. While some of the tips and points in this book were what I would consider 'no brainers' it was nice to see them in print before my eyes. The other handy advise was well articulated and have already helped me become a better designer. As someone without much background in design, I'd recommend this to anyone who is looking to try to focus their skills for basic design work.
Having been a freelancer for more than forty years I was struck by how many of these little sayings hit home.
I plan to include several of them in client presentations and proposals.

Read this before you buy-I rarely give such low scores, but this book's title appears by name to potentially be a useful "reference" tool for real designers- However, it was not useful in any practical sense of the word. More so, it is really just a collection of brief philosophical ideas about life. It simply consists of short pearls of wisdom "sentences" (1 per page on my kindle book!) which as a designer of many things for over 20 years, is not what I needed to assist me in producing some creative lesson plan ideas for a new 3D product design course I am presently building curriculum for and teaching. Having no visuals and no tangible concepts to offer, I found the book useless and would have returned if I had had the time to look at it in time to return. But again, at $1.99 I guess you do get what you pay for.
I expected something more insightful. Instead lot;s of wasted paper (yeah I love minimalism, but this was just bad). Some more insight for each distilled thought in it would be better. Just got the book and feel like tossing it in the garbage bin. The little essences in it are like generic dogma. What a waste of money.
This was a clever book of statements about design, but it loses impact as an eBook. The statements each take up a whole page.
Great simple, but wise, tips to apply to design. Many I could relate directly to. In fact I also bought the book and used it as a to do list notebook so I could see a quote each day. Now I've got the kindle version as well and just bought your new "The Little Blue Book of Design" too! Keep them coming!
The book gave me the feeling as if I was talking to the master of design; a designer with 100 years of experience in dealing with designs, clients, co-workers, life, cosmo, and especially knowing himself so well that made me sometimes laugh with a self-reflection.
