A peaceful read. Love and Romance next to the beautiful, sparkling river.
Jessica contemplates relationships, love and life beside her river out in the countryside. How can she hold onto love and stop it from flowing away like the ever-flowing water in the river? Is there a way to keep her love alive and achieve her dreams of love and building a strong, trusting relationship in the future? Do the secrets lie in the flowing waters of the river? Or in the Egyptian geese lovingly caressing? Will Jessica work out where her heart lies and how to keep love in her life?

1.5 stars, rounded up to 2.I don't know where to begin, other than to say this short story occurred 95% within one character's head. Just thoughts. Circular, never landing the plane. Repetitious, over and over, the same thoughts, same metaphors, same comparisons. Nothing is dramatized, instead the author tells the reader what the character thinks, sees, thinks about again, then, because the world is a perfect place without conflict or difficulty, the perfect man the main character had an amicable split with asks for a coffee date and they meet up. Again more thoughts. A tiny bit of stilted talking. No man talks like that. No one who doesn't know if their ex is in another relationship dives right in and asks for a do-over. People are more protective than that, ask a few questions, make sure it's safe to say, "hey, let's try again." It only gets worse. They look at the blue, blue sky (repeated at least 3 times) after he supposedly opens his heart to her again and she doesn't reply. Finally, she suggests they go back to that river and she preaches to him for awhile about what she thought about endlessly. ACK!
Yes, it's clean. But this is not a romance. It's not even fiction. It's stream of thought consciousness in one woman's head, so repetitious, so circular, with poor sentence structure, repeated words, repeated phrases, cliches, inconsistent spelling, I'm so turned off by Atkinson's writing, I'll avoid it in the future. NOT a fan. I should've rounded down to 1 star instead of up to 2.

Romantic River FREE AUDIO INSIDE A Peaceful Read edition by Terry Atkinson Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Sometimes we are too smart for our own good. Left brain personalities are too logic and less emotional. They need to allow the heart to get involved. I am one of them
Wish the book was longer. Good story. Would live to see it taken a little farther. Hope to read more.
Nice little story. Like listening in on someone's rambling thoughts. Boring. I had to force myself to finish reading it. Good thing it is so short.
We fight too hard to make things work. We need to let go a little and learn from nature. We need to feel again, trust again and start living - genuinely. All of Terry's stories have a truth to them that makes one relook where we are in life - they gives us a chance to get back our values.
A young woman stops by a river at her childhood home and reflects on why she has been successful in her profession and not at life and love. Then she is offered a second chance with her old boyfriend. Will they get it right this time?
Read how a romantic river with banks keeping the water flowing and a couple of Romantic Egyptian Geese and some fluffy white clouds inspired a change of viewpoint and a realization of a renewed love. A heartfelt inspiring warm romantic read.
Good tips available in this story to find, renew or keep love going as a river keeps flowing.
I am a follower of Jesus Christ and I saw the river and the clouds as the Peaceful, Holy Spirit and the Egyptian Geese was God's showing us the meaning of the plain truth, if we dear to see nature, not complicated. This is a picture of God's nature, God's plan that will work for us, if we let it. The couple in the story saw it.
So if we just take time out to just relax and focus on the river. Sometimes the sounds are loud and sometimes quiet.
Things will become clear, to us for our lives.
Romantic River is truly a clean simple love story. Other people will have their own positive view point about your short story.
